DSPL2 Primary/Secondary SENCo Forums

 

DSPL2 host half-termly Primary/Secondary SENCo Forums for SEND professionals.  

Meetings take place at the Oak Suite, Peartree Spring Primary School.

At the start of each Forum, we will share updates from DSPL2.  Professionals from Hertfordshire and guest speakers regularly join us.  

We always welcome contributions from our schools and settings and gratefully receive ideas for guest speakers.

New to role SENCo's/New to DSPL2 SENCo's (funded for Herts Schools)

HfL are running a Hertfordshire SENCO induction programme for SENCO's, providing reassurance and practical advice on understanding statutory responsibilities.  SENCO's will be provided with a range of helpful tools to fulfil their day-to-day responsibilities, strengthen their strategic role and expand their understanding of local support whilst networking with other Hertfordshire SENCO's.  

With three pathways, depending on experience, SENCOs will be supported by HFL Education’s SEND advisers. You should register if you are a Hertfordshire SENCO: 

  1. New to role and at the start of their journey
  2. New to Hertfordshire and bringing previous experience 
  3. New to a DSPL area with experience and knowledge of Hertfordshire 

Across the course there will be a mix of in person, online and self-directed learning available depending on which pathway you choose. Further information regarding The Hertfordshire SEND Academy and DSPL dates, to promote awareness of local support, will be provided following registration in a welcome letter.

 

Early Years North Herts & Stevenage Cluster

We are aware it is often difficult for colleagues to be released to attend forums and, as such, we have joined the North Herts and Stevenage Early Years Clusters delivered by HCC colleagues. 

Dates for 2025/26 to be confirmed via the Early Years service.
