NEW Hertfordshire - EBSNA Framework
Hertfordshire County Council: New Resource - Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA) - a Framework for Schools
Providing Strategies to Support Reintegration to Full-time Education
- Reasons for emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA) are often varied and complex. This framework is intended to be an accessible way for schools to help identify the specific issues, so that professionals can collaborate with individual children and young people and parent(s)/carers using a systematic and transparent approach.
- The framework allows schools to share information about the factors contributing to reduced attendance, the systematic approaches planned or implemented, and the progress made towards increasing school attendance.
- This overview can be shared with the student, their parent(s)/carers, school leaders, Local Authority services, and other professionals who may support the student's needs.
- The framework helps identify patterns and effective whole-school strategies to support students' full-time access to education. These insights can be shared as whole-school data with the school community, Governors, the Local Authority, and Inspectors.
