The following FREE, in person, Visual Impairment training courses are available to school staff in January 2026.
- Effective Access for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (12 January 2026)
- Resource Modification and Access (28 January 2026)
- Advanced Drawing (30 January 2026)

Effective Access:
- Understand the impact of vision impairment upon learning and development.
- Become equipped with strategies and techniques to support access for children and young people with vision impairment.
- Understand the specific strategies and techniques which may benefit the children and young people with vision impairment you are working with.
Resource Modification and Access:
For Staff supporting children and young people with vision impairment who require modified print or Braille
Workshop objectives:
- To have experience of Word programme skills to produce accessible documents using styles and formatting techniques
- Opportunities to create accessible diagrams using Word and Excel
- Identify and problem-solving particular concerns raised by workshop members
Advanced Drawing:
- How to represent 2D tactile and large print diagrams using Microsoft Office applications.
- To understand the concept of layering a diagram.
- Opportunities to create accessible diagrams using Microsoft Applications.
- Identify and problem-solving particular concerns raised by attendees.
