DSPL2 have commissioned Laura Bloomberg, specialist Dyslexia Teacher to deliver the following package to Primary and Secondary Schools in the area during the Spring Term 2026:

 

Primary Whole School Dyslexia Training:

Three, separate, fully-funded, quality online dyslexia training sessions.  Sessions will take place after school to enable all staff within your school to participate.

By booking you are agreeing to attend all three sessions. It is suggested that each SENCo makes one booking on behalf of the school team. Each school will be sent a Zoom link prior to the sessions. This can be used to share in a school hall or classroom with a large staff audience.

• Session 1:  Understanding Dyslexia
• Session 2:  Inclusive Classrooms
• Session 3:  Memory and Learning

Primary SpLD Online Unnamed Pupil Focus Surgeries:  

The purpose of these sessions is to help schools support pupils of concern (SpLD in nature), by giving advice on how to best support their presenting needs and advise on next steps, suitable resources, interventions, quality first teaching strategies, inclusive classroom practice.

Secondary School - Inference Training - A Reading Comprehension Intervention

Training for your SENCo and one TA.  Two, separate, fully-funded online sessions in March 2026.  Resources will be provided following attendance.  More information will be shared and added to the website later this term.

 

 

Laura Bloomberg (BEd Hons, Dip RSA) has had over 30 years’ teaching experience in state and private schools. She is a specialist dyslexia teacher (Level 5 OCR) and was an assessor (Level 7 OCR). Laura worked for Hertfordshire Local Authority Outreach SpLD Service supporting schools to remove barriers to learning for pupils with specific learning difficulties (SpLD). She also delivered the Level 5 Diploma in ‘Teaching Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Differences’ and was a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, School of Education. Laura is also a qualified NLP Mindset Coach, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique – Energy Tapping) Practitioner and a Hypnotherapist.
